Biography

Dr. Erica Kristina Reid is our new Visiting Assistant Professor of Africana Studies. Originally from Rochester New York, is a recent graduate from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in multicultural education practices. Her main interests center in her love for teaching and learning. Within research she has focused on creating equitable practices within curriculum and instruction Dr. Reid, a K-16 educator, has extensive knowledge in both secondary and post-secondary education and instructional approaches that center the learner. Her current research explores the experiences of teacher educators within online professional development with a special interest in teacher identity development within these spaces. She is also exploring the experiences of African American women within higher education settings in the southwest region.
