Spanish Immersion 2021 is an institute that Dr. Pando coordinates and offers every summer at NMSU. This project is funded by the New Mexico Public Education Department in the amount of $2000 every summer. Through this institute in-service and pre-service teachers are immersed in an intensive Spanish language learning experience in order to prepare for New Mexico’s Spanish Language Proficiency Exam La Prueba to obtain a bilingual endorsement. The funds are used to cover study resources and examination fees for participants in the institute.
