Teacher Candidate Dispositions

What are dispositions?
Dispositions are the values, commitments, and professional ethics that influence behaviors towards students, families, colleagues, and communities that affect student learning, motivation and development as well as the educator’s own professional growth (National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education). These dispositions are based on NMSU College of Education’s Conceptual Framework and reflect the NM Code of Ethics and NM Entry-level Licensure Competencies. All teacher candidates will be reviewed for dispositional growth and development throughout their education coursework.

The forms include additional information on how, when and why students are evaluated, and directions on how to complete the self-assessment.
