Don and Sarrah Kidd Conference

09/12/07: Elementary education class at NMSU Grants campus

Each year the NMSU College of Education’s Language, Literacy and Cultural Program  sponsors the Annual Don & Sarrah Kidd Literacy Conference.  The conference usually takes place during the Spring Semester and features speakers from around the nation.

The Fall 2017 Annual Don & Sarrah Kidd Literacy Conference was co-sponsored as the NMSU College of Education Symposium by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and Don and Sarrah Kidd with an expanded slate of speakers – it was a great conference!

The Kidd Legacy

Kidd gift to fund literacy chair at NMSU Carlsbad banker Don Kidd and his wife, Sarrah, have given a major gift to New Mexico State University to establish the Don and Sarrah Kidd Endowed Chair in Literacy in the College of Education. The chair will attract and reward high quality teaching, research, service and outreach to New Mexico’s public schools by a faculty member in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The chair also will collaborate with the New Mexico Coalition for Literacy whose focus is adult literacy.
