Dr. Chadrhyn A. A. Pedraza
Dr. Chadrhyn A. A. Pedraza is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Administration at New Mexico State University. Her scholarship examines racialized subject formation, identity construction, and cultural identity within educational contexts, with particular attention to Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander students in higher education. Her research is grounded in constructivist grounded theory and draws on situational analysis, AsianCrit, Racial Formation Theory, Racial Triangulation Theory, and scholarship on master narratives.
Her work examines how students construct and negotiate identities in relation to educational spaces, cultural contexts, institutional histories, racialization, and representations. She developed the Asian and Asian American Identity in Spaces (AAIS) model, which conceptualizes the role of spaces and access in the construction of Asian and Asian American identities. Her articles have appeared in Innovative Higher Education, Genealogy, and the Journal of Multicultural Education.
